Re: Thamizhar Sangamam 2010
It has come to our attention that several articles concerning the Thamizhar Sangamam 2010 of the Ilankai Tamil Sangam and USTPAC contain errors, notably concerning the conduct of a journalist attempting to enter the event without a ticket. Please note that entrance to the Thamizhar Sangamam was by ticket to cover the expenses for banquet hall, food, music program, etc. As we stated in our press release after the event (attached), due to overwhelming response, the reserved capacity of the banquet hall was reached and the online registration was closed five days prior to the event. We notified our membership of this on Saturday, November 13th by email. We did not extend an invitation to any individual as journalist.
The journalist in question arrived and attempted to enter without registering and purchasing a ticket and was very politely told about the circumstances. The Ilankai Tamil Sangam and USTPAC jointly hosted the afternoon program. Since USTPAC held its Annual General Meeting at the venue for its members, presence of journalists was inappropriate. Regrettably, there seems to be some hard feelings concerning our inability to allow entrance to the event. We deeply regret that the name of Dr. Palani Sundaram, the President of FeTNA, was unfairly implicated in some of the misleading press reports. We value our relationship with our sister organizations and strive to work with them on causes near and dear to Tamil Americans.
We trust that the attached press release will be used for any reports about the Thamizhar Sangamam of November 20, 2010.

Beware of Mr. Prakash Swamy!!
Mr. Prakash Swamy from the New York area, who calls himself a journalist and a reporter, has engaged himself in a series of anti FeTNA and anti Tamil activities for the last several years. He participates as a regular attendee and creates fabricated stories of the events he is attending including FeTNA's annual conventions. These fabricated stories have been proven to be untrue. For these and many other anti FeTNA activities, in March of 2010, Mr. Swamy was expelled as a delegate by the FeTNA board. Please see below, the letter of his expulsion, which was communicated to hundreds of leaders of the North American Tamil community. In response to his expulsion, Mr. Swamy continues to report fabricated stories about FeTNA. Hence, we request you to use caution in trusting Mr. Swamy's fabricated reports.
Sincerely,
Dr. Pazhani Sundaram
President, FeTNA

AnbuLLa Thalaivarkalukkum Amerikkath thamizh Unarvaalarkalukkum,
Vanakkam. We, at FeTNA, are necessitated to make this following announcement for your information and circulation among your Sangam's committee members and delegates as it pertains to an important disciplinary action taken by the FeTNA.
It is very sad to note that Thiru Prakash M. Swamy, Secretary of New York Tamil Sangam has been indulging in many anti-FeTNA activities over the years and it was rightfully brought to the attention of NYTS board on many of the past occasions. Recently, Mr. Swamy went to the extreme extent of sending very hurtful anti-FeTNA email to High Offices in Indian Government. As some of you are probably well aware, Mr. Swamy has been involved in a clear pattern of such anti-FeTNA activities in the past. We strongly believe that Mr. Swamy may have committed many more of such anti-FeTNA actions that we are not aware of as yet.
Therefore, in a recent board meeting, FeTNA board has unanimously decided to remove Thiru Prakash Swamy's FeTNA delegate status; He will be disqualified to attain this honor until further notice. Please understand that this action was taken unanimously by the FeTNA board members representing many member Sangams across North America, after a detailed discussion and giving careful consideration of all possible avenues and options. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me or the president of FeTNA.
Thanks for your attention and continued support to FeTNA.
Sincerely,
Dr. Pazhani Sundaram
Secretary, FeTNA [2008-10]
